fRate acts partly as an interface between Tint and other software (for example, Microsoft Excel), as it can be used to extract firing times and positions for spikes, as well as waveform amplitudes, and copy these in text form to other applications.

It also offers a number of built-in analyses, including spatial measures of place field size.
